The recent news of Pakistan being added to the Amazon-approved seller countries’ list is no less than a “blissful Eidi” for Pakistanis this year.

Amazon US

The eCommerce market is one of the biggest markets in the entire world, which will measure at least $5.4 trillion in 2022, just for the US. Becoming a part of it, finally, is a chance for Amazon sellers in Pakistan to show off our eCommerce market skills.

Up till now, the Pakistani eCommerce market was facing a serious backlash due to the imposed ban on Pakistan as it was “Blacked Listed by FATF.” Whenever someone said “we’re working online on Amazon” they were termed as frauds because no one believed that Pakistan could work on such a big marketplace.

Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment, stressed the importance of the growing eCommerce market in Pakistan. He insisted on making significant developments since the trends were getting better and proved a viable opportunity for the country to take advantage of.

But let’s not forget the true heroes that compelled the Ministry to take swift actions. All companies and people that were working in the eCommerce market are responsible for what has been achieved today.

Amongst them, the efforts of Team Enablers cannot be ignored since it was their continuous persuasion that led to this initiative. Envisioning the vision of eCommerce growth, Team Enablers worked endlessly and managed to train Enablers’ students to set their Amazon seller accounts using third-party email addresses and start selling.

When so much potential was seen, Amazon established its “Data Services” office in 2020, which indicated a progressive stance.

Meanwhile, meeting government officials, including the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, stressing how important it’s to get Pakistan on Amazon’s approved seller countries’ list was one of the biggest steps ever taken for eCommerce growth in the country.

Apart from that, Team Enablers took the initiative of establishing eCommerce courses in HEC approved universities, creating the base for eCommerce knowledge. Meanwhile, several MOUs were signed with the government and private institutions, allowing eCommerce to flourish in the country. Not to mention Enablers also took the initiative of creating the Pakistan eCommerce Association, the first eCommerce consortium of Pakistan.

But one thing’s for sure if it wasn’t for thier dedication and belief to make Pakistan an eCommerce market it would’ve taken perhaps another decade for the country to even get Amazon’s attention. Not to mention, the post by CEO Enablers Saqib Azhar posted about this in 2020 that Pakistan will be listed in Amazon’s approved seller countries’ list by 2021, and never stopped a day from achieving this.

The combined efforts of Enablers and the Govt. of Pakistan have finally turned the tide for eCommerce growth in the country. With a wide range of opportunities now available for amazon pk, it’s just a matter of time when Pakistan becomes one of the biggest eCommerce hubs in the world.
